Tally vs Typeform in 2026: Free Plans, Prices and Which to Use
Tally vs Typeform compared on free-plan limits, response caps, prices, logic, payments and branding. Which form builder fits your site and budget.
For most people, Tally is the better pick. Its free plan gives unlimited forms and unlimited submissions, with logic, payments, signatures and integrations included. Pro costs $24 a month. Typeform's free plan caps responses at a small monthly number, and its paid plans start at $28 a month (billed yearly) for just 100 responses.
Typeform still makes sense if you want its polished one-question-at-a-time look, video questions and built-in analytics, and you collect a predictable number of responses that fits a plan. Agencies running lead-gen quizzes for clients often accept the price for that design.

How they differ
Both tools build forms that live on their own link or embed into a site. You can drop either into Framer, Webflow, WordPress or a plain HTML page.
Tally feels like writing a document. You type, press "/" and insert a question, much like Notion. It can show one question per page or the whole form at once. The free plan is the main reason people switch to it.
Typeform is known for its conversational style: one question fills the screen, then slides to the next. It adds video questions and answers, AI form creation, premium themes and stronger reporting on the higher plans. You pay per response volume.
Free plans
Tally Free includes unlimited forms and unlimited submissions within fair use, conditional logic and calculations, payment collection through Stripe, signatures, webhooks and integrations with Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier and Make. File uploads are capped at 10 MB per file. Tally branding stays on your forms.
Typeform Free is meant for trying the product. Typeform's pricing page says only that it includes basic features and "a limited number of responses per month". Independent reviews and Typeform community answers put the cap at 10 responses a month across the whole account. Once you hit it, forms stop accepting answers until the next month. I couldn't confirm the exact number on an official page, so check your account.
In practice: you can run a contact form, a client brief or a waitlist on Tally Free for years. On Typeform Free, you can test a form with a few friends.

Yearly billing gives "2 months off", which works out to roughly $240 a year for Pro if the discount applies as described. Check the checkout for the exact total.

Typeform's plan cards and its comparison table showed different prices in November 2026 (the table listed Basic at $29/$25, Plus at $59/$50 and Business at $99/$83). The cards above match the page's structured data. The page also showed a Growth plan at $169 a month ($119 yearly) with 3,000 responses. Expect the checkout to be the final word.
What you get as you go up: Basic has unlimited typeforms, AI form creation, conditional logic, webhooks and integrations. Plus removes Typeform branding and adds a custom subdomain. Business adds drop-off rates, conversion tracking and priority support with live chat.
Cost at real volumes
Here is what a year costs for common cases, using yearly billing:
- Contact form, 50 replies a month, branding fine: Tally $0. Typeform Basic $468.
- Lead quiz, 500 replies a month, no branding: Tally Pro about $240. Typeform Plus $948.
- Survey, 5,000 replies a month, team of 3: Tally Pro about $240. Typeform Business $1,548.
The gap grows with volume, because Typeform charges by response count and Tally doesn't.
Features side by side
- Logic and calculations. Tally has both on free. Typeform has logic from Basic. Typeform notes that partial responses on forms with logic or scoring need its Growth plans.
- Payments. Both connect to Stripe. Tally offers it on free.
- Integrations. Both cover Google Sheets, Zapier, webhooks and common CRMs. Tally adds native Notion and Airtable, which suits people who run a business in Notion. Either can feed a newsletter tool; see Kit vs beehiiv vs MailerLite.
- Design. Typeform has the more polished default look, premium themes, a brand kit and video questions. Tally looks clean and minimal, and Pro allows custom CSS.
- Privacy. Tally is based in Belgium, stores form data in Europe and states GDPR compliance. Typeform offers a choice of US or EU data centre on Enterprise.
- File uploads. Tally free caps each file at 10 MB, Pro removes the limit. Typeform includes 1 to 4 GB of storage depending on plan.
Which one to pick
- Freelancer or small business who needs contact, booking or brief forms: Tally Free.
- Founder collecting waitlist sign-ups or feedback at volume: Tally Pro.
- Team in Notion or Airtable: Tally.
- Agency building branded quizzes for paying clients: Typeform Plus, if the client pays for the look.
- Marketing team that needs drop-off and conversion reporting with support: Typeform Business.
- EU business with strict data rules on a budget: Tally.
If you are building a site with an AI tool and need a form on it, both embed with a snippet. Our guide to publishing a site built with AI shows where the embed goes, and more form tools sit on our email and forms page.
FAQ
Is Tally really free?
Yes. As of November 2026, Tally's free plan includes unlimited forms and unlimited submissions within fair use, plus conditional logic, calculations, Stripe payments, signatures, webhooks and integrations with Notion, Google Sheets, Airtable, Zapier and Make. Tally branding stays on forms and files are capped at 10 MB each. Pro at $24 a month removes both limits.
How many responses does Typeform's free plan allow?
Typeform's pricing page only says the free plan has "a limited number of responses per month". Independent reviews and Typeform community answers report 10 responses a month, shared across all forms in the account. Once you reach the cap, forms stop accepting answers until the next month. Check your account dashboard for the current figure.
How much does Typeform cost in 2026?
As of November 2026, Typeform Basic costs $39 a month, or $28 a month billed yearly, for 100 responses. Plus costs $79 or $56 yearly for 1,000 responses and removes branding. Business costs $129 or $91 yearly for 10,000 responses. The comparison table on the same page listed lower prices, so check the checkout.
Is Tally a good Typeform alternative?
For most uses, yes. Tally can show one question per page like Typeform, and its free plan covers logic, payments and integrations with no response cap. Pro costs $24 a month versus $56 a month for Typeform Plus on yearly billing. Typeform stays ahead on polished themes, video questions and built-in conversion analytics.
Which is better for GDPR, Tally or Typeform?
Tally is based in Belgium, says it fully complies with GDPR and stores all form data in Europe on every plan, including free. Typeform states GDPR compliance and offers a choice of US or EU data centre, but its pricing page lists that choice under the Enterprise plan. For EU businesses on a budget, Tally is the simpler choice.
Can I remove branding on Tally or Typeform?
Yes, on paid plans. Tally removes its branding on Pro, which costs $24 a month and also adds custom domains and custom CSS. Typeform removes branding from the Plus plan, which costs $79 a month or $56 a month billed yearly, with 1,000 responses a month and a custom subdomain, as of November 2026.
Bottom line
Start with Tally. Its free plan covers what most sites need, and Pro at $24 a month is cheaper than any Typeform tier with branding removed. Move to Typeform only if a client wants its look and reporting, and pick the plan by your real monthly response count, because that number sets the price.
