Hostinger AI Website Builder Review 2026: Who It's For

Hostinger's AI Builder in 2026: plans, AI credits, ecommerce, code export and limits, compared with Lovable, Framer and Wix. A research-based review.

Hostinger's AI Builder is a good fit for small business owners who want a simple site, an online shop or a small web app, with hosting, a domain and email in one cheap bundle. It's a weaker fit for designers who care about every pixel, and for people building a serious product that will grow past a few pages.

In 2026 Hostinger merged its old website builder and Horizons, its "vibe coding" app builder, into one product called AI Builder. You can edit with drag and drop, or chat with the AI and let it write the site or app for you. Both modes come with the same hosting plans, starting at $1.99/mo on a 48-month term.

A quick note on how I wrote this. I'm Anna, a web designer and developer. I build client sites in Framer, WordPress, plain HTML and with AI tools, and I used Lovable in the past, but I haven't used Hostinger's AI Builder myself. This is a research review based on Hostinger's pricing pages and docs, competitors' official pages and independent tests. Figures are as of November 2026, so check the checkout before you pay. What Hostinger AI Builder is now

AI Builder has two modes:

  • Manual mode. Classic drag and drop on templates. Hostinger's plan cards mention 900+ templates. Editing by hand uses no AI credits.
  • Agentic mode. You describe what you want in a chat, and the AI builds it. This is the former Horizons. It can make business sites, portfolios, booking and membership sites, online stores, internal tools and small SaaS apps. There's a code editor inside.

Agentic mode comes with a built-in back end: a database, user accounts and file storage. Stripe is connected for one-time and subscription payments. You don't set up a server yourself. It doesn't build native iOS or Android apps, only web apps that work on phones.

One detail I'd point out to any client: Hostinger says you can export the full source code and host it elsewhere. That puts it closer to Lovable than to Wix, where your site stays on Wix.

Plans and prices

AI Builder doesn't have separate plans. It comes with Hostinger's web hosting plans, and the plan decides how many sites you get and how many AI credits.

Cloud Startup$7.99/mo$383.52 for 48 months$25.99/moUnlimited1,000Yes

Prices from hostinger.com, November 2026, during the Black Friday sale. During the sale Hostinger shows double credits (500, 1,000 and 2,000).

Every plan includes a free domain for the first year, free SSL and email on your domain (2 mailboxes per site on Premium, unlimited on the higher plans, both free for a year). Unlimited and Cloud Startup add free Reach email marketing for a year, up to 100 subscribers.

The money-back guarantee is 30 days, as with Hostinger's hosting. There's a condition on the AI Builder page: it applies only if you've used fewer than 1,500 AI credits. There's also a free trial with 250 credits and no card.

My pick: if you plan to sell anything, skip Premium. Ecommerce is listed on Unlimited and Cloud Startup only, and Unlimited costs less than a dollar more per month on the intro price.

How AI credits work

Credits are the meter for Agentic mode. Here's what Hostinger says about them:

  • Building and editing through chat costs credits.
  • Manual edits of text and images cost nothing.
  • A simple business page usually takes 250–500 credits. A more complex web app takes 750 or more.
  • Live AI features in your site, like a chatbot, use small fractions of a credit each time they run.
  • Top-ups are available any time, and there's a dashboard that shows where credits went.

So the Premium allowance covers roughly one simple site built by chat. After that you edit by hand for free, or buy more credits. If you want to keep chatting with the AI every week, budget for top-ups. Independent reviewers make the same point: the credit allowance, not the hosting, is the real limit for heavy users.

Ecommerce

On Unlimited and Cloud Startup you can sell physical products, digital downloads, bookings and subscriptions. Hostinger advertises 0% transaction fees from its side and 100+ payment methods. Your payment provider (Stripe, PayPal) still takes its normal cut.

For a small shop with a few dozen products, this is enough. For a store with complex shipping rules, many variants and wholesale pricing, look at Shopify or WooCommerce instead.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Hosting, domain, SSL, email and the builder in one bill.
  • Two modes: drag and drop for simple edits, AI chat for bigger changes.
  • Built-in database, logins and Stripe for small web apps.
  • Code export, so you're not locked in forever.
  • No transaction fees from Hostinger on store sales.

Cons

  • The lowest price needs a 48-month prepayment, and renewal is several times higher.
  • AI credits run out fast if you build mostly by chat.
  • Ecommerce isn't on the cheapest plan.
  • If your plan expires, Hostinger says the project becomes inaccessible and its data is permanently deleted. Export a copy and set a renewal reminder.
  • Less design control than Framer. Independent reviews also rate Wix's editor as the stronger one.

Lovable is the better tool if you're building an actual app with logic, user roles and integrations. It's built for that and has a bigger community. It costs more per month and doesn't include email or a domain. If you already built something there, our guide on putting a Lovable site on your own domain shows how to move it.

Framer wins on design. I build client sites in Framer, and nothing in this list gives the same control over layout, type and animation. You do need some design sense to use it well. It's not a store builder.

Wix has the larger app market, more templates and a stronger editor according to most independent tests. It's also the most expensive here once you need ecommerce, and you can't take your site with you.

Who should use Hostinger AI Builder

  • A small business owner who needs a site, a contact form, maybe a booking page, and email that matches the domain. This is the core audience.
  • Someone starting a small shop on a budget. Pick Unlimited or higher.
  • A beginner testing an app idea who wants a database and logins without touching a server. Watch your credits.
  • Anyone who wants one bill for site, domain and email instead of three subscriptions.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Designers and studios who sell custom design. Framer or hand-written code will look better and give you more control.
  • Founders building a real product. Lovable, Bolt or a coding tool like Claude Code or Cursor, with proper hosting, will scale further.
  • Large stores. Shopify or WooCommerce.
  • People who want to pay monthly without a long commitment. The good prices only come with long terms.

How to get started

  1. Pick a plan. Unlimited if you might sell anything, Premium if it's one simple site.
  2. Pay for the longest term you're comfortable with, and turn off any add-ons you don't need at checkout.
  3. Claim the free domain and create your mailbox.
  4. Open AI Builder and describe your business in the chat. Save credits by doing small text and image fixes by hand.
  5. Before launch, add your own photos and rewrite the AI text in your voice. AI copy is a draft.

If you build the site with another tool and only need a place to put it, our hosting and domains guide covers that path instead.

Bottom line

Hostinger AI Builder is a cheap, sensible all-in-one for a small business site or a simple app, especially now that drag and drop and AI chat live in one product. Choose it for the bundle and the price. Choose Framer for design, Lovable for real apps and Wix for the biggest set of add-ons. Whatever you pick, read the renewal price, and keep an exported copy of your site.
