How we test

How tools are chosen, tested and updated on DSGN Hub.

Reviews and comparisons on this site follow the same steps, so you know what a verdict is based on.

What we do before writing

  • Sign up for the tool, on the free plan or trial where one exists.
  • Build the same small test: a landing page or the task the article is about.
  • Take our own screenshots of the editor, settings and result.
  • Check current pricing on the official pricing page, including renewal prices, and note the date.
  • Write down who the tool is not for.

What we never do

  • Copy specs from other review sites without checking them.
  • Let a commission change a verdict. If a free tool does the job, we say so.
  • Change a date without changing the content.

Two kinds of articles

Hands-on articles are written from my own use of a tool on real projects. Research articles cover tools I have not used myself: they compare features and pricing from official pages, summarize what users report on Reddit, G2, Trustpilot and similar sites (with links), and include our own screenshots. Each article is labelled at the top, and research articles list their sources at the end.

Updates

Pricing and features change often. Each article shows the date it was last checked. If you spot something outdated, write to us and we will fix it.
